The second inductee for the Class of 2009 carries the longest competitive streak of any driver to ever race at Beatrice Speedway.
His first Beatrice win came in 1958. He would follow that up with wins in 1960 and 1961, in 1932 Ford, running in the SuperModified division. He would again take wins in 1963 and 1964, racing in the Nebraska Modified Racing Association. He was a consistent front runner despite competing again Nebraska's best including Fellow Hall of Famers Lloyd Beckman, Cliff Sealock and Frank Brennfoerder.
He would move on to race in the Spring Car ranks thoughout the rest of his career but would return to Beatrice several more times both in 1990 and in 2000 including the final race of career after a spectacular wreck that launched his car over the fence off turn #2.
The determination and longevity of a career covering 6 decades ranks this race among the best to ever compete at the Beatrice Speedway.
Tonight we would like to honor Lincoln,NE's Keith Hightshoe.
