Stan Woelke built his first race car, a 1932 Ford Coupe in 1949. He raced in the early 1950's at the old Gage County Fairgournds. He would leave racing for several years until the mid 1960's. His first ever A Main win would come against 2002 Hall of Fame Inductees Mike Cacak and Denny Oltman. He would go on to win a division his 5 A Main wins that year. He would have an even greater year in 1966 winning 7 modified stock car A Mains and finish 2nd in the championship. He would end his racing career in 1971.
